Arrive at the Gallery at approximately 10.30am to see the exhibition 'The Cezanne Portraits'. After lunch we shall visit the Archives of the N.P.G. in Orange Street to see material related to Sir Hubert von Herkomer.Cost: £41 per person. Art Fund members: £33.00 per person. WORLD WAR I - TIME TO THANK THEM

Tuesday 20 February at 8.00pm
At the Bushey Centre, adjacent to Bushey Country Club.
A performance of words and music reviving poignant memories. This drama documentary, presented by John Drewry Sonja Curtis and Eunice Drewry as a VAD nurse, tells the largely forgotten story of the VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) who volunteered to assist the British Red Cross in UK military hospitals. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the Nursing Memorial Appeal.

TWO BOYS GO TO WAR

Tuesday 20 March at 8.00pm
At the Bushey Centre, adjacent to Bushey Country Club.
Local historian, Lynda Bullock, tells the story of two boys from Watford Union Workhouse going to the Zulu wars in the late 1880s.

VISIT TO HIGHCLERE CASTLE, BERKSHIRE

Friday 13 April Coach departs Bushey (opp. Melbourne Road) at 8.45am and leaves Highclere at approx 3.00pm for Sandham and on back to Bushey

Whether you are a Downton Abbey fan or have an interest in Egyptology, it should be a special outing. We will spend the morning seeing the Castle, Egyptian exhibition and gardens. After lunch at the Abbey, we visit nearby Sandham Memorial Chapel which contains paintings by Stanley Spencer illustrating his view of images of the First World War, before returning to Bushey.Cost: £47.00 per person, National Trust members £39.00 per person

LULULAUND - Visualising Herkomer's castle

A concert performed by the Sinfonia Orchestra and young concerto artists.

VISIT TO HALESWORTH, SUFFOLK

We visit the gallery where our local artist Graham Boyd has an exhibition of his work and Halesworth has an abundance of other art galleries. In the afternoon we drive to Southwold to enjoy a view of the sea before returning to Bushey. Cost: £33 per person (no extraneous costs are included)

VISIT TO OLD SARUM AND SALISBURY

Saturday 23 June Coach departs Bushey (opp. Melbourne Road) at 9.00am and arrives back at approximately 6.00 - 6.30pm.

Guided tour of the Iron Age fort and Roman settlement of Old Sarum on its wonderful vantage point. Then we drive to Salisbury for lunch and to visit the Cathedral and/or Museum where the Rex Whistler archives are held. Visits to the Cathedral should be undertaken by 3pm as a service is due.
