Our Meetings are open to all. If you are interested in a Friends visit but are not a member, please download a membership application. New members will receive the current Newsletter and Events Leaflet and be put on the mailing list for all future details.
Please note that Museum staff cannot answer enquiries about Friends events. The names and contact details of those responsible for booking social events, outings etc. are in the Friends events leaflet.
For this season of meetings we are inviting members to gather for refreshments before the talk, between 7.30pm and 8pm. This means the talk will not be interrupted and members will leave when it finishes.

Group Captain Christopher Brazier, Commanding Officer, gives a presentation about Northwood Headquarters, the UK's principal military HQ site.
VISIT TO THE ASHMOLEAN MUSEUM, OXFORD

The Ashmolean is Britain's oldest public museum, with collections spanning civilisations from ancient Egypt to the modern world. A 2009 renovation has doubled the display space with magnificent new galleries. Coffee and lunch will be available.
Coach departs Bushey St James at 9.OOam and returns to arrive back at approximately 6.OOpm.
QUIZ EVENING

Judy Earle, Chair of Harrow Beekeepers Association, gives a fascinating insight into our local bee-keeping community. Locally produced honey will be on sale during the evening.
VISIT TO HENLEY-ON-THAMES - RIVER AND ROWING MUSEUM

As well as a history of rowing, the museum has details of the people, wildlife and industry that has flourished alongside the River Thames. It is also home to the 'Wind in the Willows' exhibition. Coffee and light lunch available, with time to explore the town and walk by the river.

CONCERT BY STUDENTS OF THE PURCELL SCHOOL
Friday 25 May at 7.00pmAt the Purcell School, Aldenham Road, Bushey
The Sinfonia Orchestra plays a selection of orchestral pieces with solos from prizewinning young stars of the future who are studying at the Purcell School.

Colchester has an acclaimed new art galley, First Site. This visually arresting building is worthy of a visit itself. It is of an irregular crescent shape, clad in a striking golden alloy and set in a park, with changing exhibitions of contempor-ary and historic art. 'News from Nowhere', a large-scale group exhibition, will explore the phenomenon of science fiction in art. Colchester also has extensive historic sites including part of the Roman wall and the largest Norman keep in Europe, now a gallery housing historic artefacts.
