Our Meetings are open to all. If you are interested in a Friends visit but are not a member, please download a membership application. New members will receive the current Newsletter and Events Leaflet and be put on the mailing list for all future details.

Please note that Museum staff cannot answer enquiries about Friends events. The names and contact details of those responsible for booking social events, outings etc. are in the Friends events leaflet.

OPEN HOUSE at REVELEY LODGE

Sunday 19 September
At Reveley Lodge, 88 Elstree Road, Bushey Heath WD23 4GL
An opportunity to explore this unique house. For Friends only (we regret no children) and by free timed-tickets for one of 10 tours during the day. Disabled access is limited. Tickets will be available from the beginning of August in the Museum shop (when open) and from the Friends' stall at the Garden Party on 14 August.

THE HISTORY OF ST. MARGARET'S SCHOOL

Tuesday 21 September at 8pm
At the Bushey Centre, adjacent to Bushey Country Club.
Enid Jarvis is archivist of St. Margaret's School. This well known local school has a fascinating history with an arts and crafts connection.

WIMBLEDON LAWN TENNIS MUSEUM AND BATTERSEA PARK

Saturday 16 October

There will be a guided tour including visits to the Centre Court and to the new museum which was opened in 2006. Highlights in the museum are a 200°. screen cinema, which immerses the viewer in the world of the Championships and the science of tennis. There is also an extensive collection of Wimbledon attire, racquets and memorabilia. Light lunch available which must be ordered in advance.
Battersea Park has newly restored gardens and an attractive lake. Situated beside the River Thames this very large green oasis is both formal and informal, having fountains (with a tea terrace nearby), sculptures, an art gallery, a lakeside café, plenty of wildlife, good walking, lots of seats and much more. The autumn colours should be excellent.

Hugh Lewis is Chairman of Bushey Museum Trust. He talks about the life and work of Bushey's most famous woman artist, illustrator of Black Beauty and world renowned for her pictures of horses.

VISIT to the GAUGUIN EXHIBITION at TATE MODERN

This is the first Gauguin exhibition in Britain for 50 years. It is dedicated to this master French Post-impressionist, featuring paintings and drawings from around the world. His colourful images of women in Tahiti and landscape images of Brittany are some of the most popular in modern art.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Tuesday 16 November at 8pm
At the Bushey Centre, adjacent to Bushey Country Club.
After the formal business, Patrick Forsyth will show a selection of images connected with Bushey and taken during the past year.

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL

Saturday 4 December 7.00 for 7.30pm
At the Bushey Centre, adjacent to Bushey Country Club.
An evening of light-hearted entertainment and good company to celebrate the coming festive season.
