John Carr's miniature period style furniture
Many Cabinet makers like to create miniature pieces and in 1975 I decided to make a miniature tripod table for my father for Christmas. Seeing his excitement each Christmas morning when he opened the box is something I will never forget. I continued doing this for twenty-one years and the last piece was given to him for Christmas 1996 just before he passed away.
The items were not made to any scale and no plans were drawn up or used. Everything has been done purely 'by eye'. All drawers are dovetailed and all work correctly. All handles have also been handmade.
