John Rosser R.O.I.

An exhibition of paintings and prints by a former Meadows Studios artist.

From 12 April 2008 to 22nd June 2008

The work in this exhibition is permeated with feelings of fresh air, sunshine and atmosphere. Rather than literal renderings, John Rosser's pictures are transient scenes, coloured by the light and atmosphere of the day. The figures melt into the subject. This is equally true of his interiors, which are light-filled with a predominant tonality and have an ethereal quality.

John Rosser is a painter of urban and rural scenes, gardens, figure subjects and interiors. He works mainly in acrylics because of his preference for working out of doors in front of the subject. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Museum of Wales in Cardiff, the Paris Salon, and with the Royal Society of Painters in Water Colours, the Royal Society of British Artists, and the New English Art Club. His works are in public collections at home and abroad.
