Following improvements funded jointly by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Hertsmere Borough Council, Bushey Museum has excellent facilities for the disabled. A gently inclined ramp with handrails has been installed at the Museum main entrance. The Herkomer Room and art galleries on the first floor are accessible by means of a newly installed lift which has a gate opening of 800mm, sufficient for a standard-size wheelchair. Specially adapted toilet facilities are available for disabled visitors.

All of this site is Bobby approved for accessibility and meets the validation criteria for the World Wide Web consortium (w3c).

GENERAL FACILITIES

New modern toilets have been installed as part of the recent improvements. There is limited car parking on the museum site but plenty of space is available at weekends in nearby Kemp Place free public car park.
